San Jose mom to police: ‘I’m sorry, I killed my baby’ – San Jose Mercury News

Ashley Newton, 23, of San Jose.

Deputies say they showed up to the Dean’s Bridge McDonald’s to find Neito Carter, 39, yelling and cursing at an employee. Reports show when Carter was asked to leave, he challenged deputies saying that he didn’t have to leave and asked what they were going to do about it. After resisting arrest, the report says the deputy noticed Carter going for a pocket knife on his right hand side. That’s when the deputy threatened to tase him. The deputy says he gave several more commands to which Carter refused, and that’s when he deployed his taser. The report says it didn’t have much of an effect because it did not make good contact.

But now, thanks to the iStab, that’s all about to change. Inventor Mike Warren found existing designs for folding knives and iPhone cases and then combined the two in a 3D design editor. Mike then used an Objet500 Connex to print the case pieces and put them together with a pairing knife blade. Mike warns that the knife may be considered a weapon by many law enforcement agencies, but if you want to make your own just for fun, or if you know they are legal in your area, you can build your own iStab using the directions on this Instructable .
