While attempting to help my father Indio was slashing the knife and cut two of my right hand fingers and one of my left hand fingers, the victim told police. Upon getting up, my father realized he had been stabbed in the chest by Indio. The son continued fighting with Carasquillo, who was no longer armed at this point. As he did so, Vega allegedly emerged from a nearby apartment, armed with a kitchen knife. Pulling on his sweatshirt, Vega twice tried to stab him in the back, but she was unsuccessful. Police said the father, a man in his 40s, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries. The son was taken to Landmark Medical Center to be treated for the hand wounds. The arrest came late Friday afternoon after police obtained a signed complaint from one of the victims.
