John Preston Cannon, 57, also faces charges of obstructing or opposing an officer with violence, deputies said. Cannon was drunk at the Oasis Bar and Grill in Apollo Beach just after midnight Monday when he began throwing things and arguing with other patrons, deputies said. When a deputy arrived, Cannon opened a 3-inch folding knife and refused commands to drop it, deputies said. The deputy used his stun gun, which hit Cannon in the chest, causing him to fall to the ground, deputies said. The deputy kicked the knife out of Cannons hand and arrested him, deputies aid. Cannon was not injured.
